These 3 Christmas trees have been bisque fired and I started a larger one which went on the green ware shelf.
And then made 2 more green ware Christmas trees. I'm starting to lose track of how many I've made.
Anyway 2 have been overglazed and fired and are wrapped in newspaper, awaiting for me to adhere gold leaf to their stars. And I also added this candelabra to the green ware shelf. Golly I hope I have since made those taper holders more vertical since I'd taken this photo. And my sewcial friend, Bonnie sent me pics of these ornaments I made last year which she hung on her tree this year. Which makes me wish I had made more this year, but I'll probably go ahead and make them with what white stoneware clay I have left to decorate next year and will go into storage with my Christmas trees I made this year.
I returned to Clay Life, and the two trees were already on the bisque shelf, which I promptly overglazed with Majolica, basically a white gloss. And then returned to smoothing this candelabra as well as attaching its taper holders.
I don’t know if the trees will get fired before Christmas, but it would be great to have them done in time for the holiday table. However I’m loving the upside down teardrop in the middle of the above candelabra, which was starting to crack at the bottom of its curves that I reinforced with coils. I’m hoping it will be more leather hard in order to remove that brace to keep it from slumping when I return to it for more burnishing later today.
