cook: september summer steak supper

Ooweee it’s hot here even in the temperate San Francisco Bay Area, and so Patrick grilled steaks outside tonight for supper. I decided to make a Caprese salad to accompany the meat.

And on impulse, I heated the oven to cook tater tots (which only take 20 minutes as opposed to 55 minutes for a baked potato) and whipped up a horseradish lemon and chive cream to sauce my steak.
And below are all the tomatoes we have left from the summer garden even though it’s already September.
As much as I want a BLT, it’s too hot to even fry bacon. Sandwiches for supper after the gym the rest of this week.
